Working to Make a Difference

WOWnet’s original vision was centered on business opportunities through networking. However, our mission quickly changed to include philanthropic efforts as well. Our original initiative was to adopt a family from the Allen County Christmas Bureau, something we continue to do each year. We also expanded our philanthropic efforts to give back to the Fort Wayne community.

Now, every year, WOWnet focuses on one non-profit organization that we collectively support. Throughout the year, we provide funding, donate time, help collect items that the organization needs and other initiatives.

As a group, we’ve supported SCAN, My Brother’s Keeper, the Rescue Mission, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, YWCA of Northeast Indiana and others.

Current Philanthropic Focus

We are pleased to announce our 2018 non-profit, Girls on the Run of Northeast Indiana! GOTR has a mission to inspire girls to be healthy and confident using a fun curriculum that integrates running.

Girls on the Run of Allen County is a life-changing, character development program for 3rd - 8th grade girls (8 to 13 year olds) in the Allen County, Indiana area. They use exercise, positive reinforcement, and encouraging role models to provide girls with the confidence they need in those critical preteen years.

Volunteering

WOWnet members are active in our community, as well. Our members volunteer in fundraisers and on committees for various organizations, including Greater Fort Wayne, Inc., the American Heart Association, the YWCA Circle of Women and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana. In addition, many charitable and not-for-profit organizations supported by WOWnet include those that the group’s own members are deeply involved with as directors, trustees, committee members and community volunteers.
